Paramore have announced a show at Edinburgh’s Corn Exchange on 21st August 2012. Tickets go on sale from 9am Fri 18th May.

Paramore have been announced as headliners for Belfast’s Belsonic 2012 event. The band will play on 19th August 2012, with other bands confirmed including Skrillex, Thin Lizzy and The Answer. More details can be found HERE.

Blink-182‘s rearranged UK tour for June and July 2012 looks in some doubt, with the band having cancelled all their US tour dates for this month, due to medical issues with both drummer Travis Barker and now singer and guitarist Tom DeLonge. You can read statements from both Blink-182 and Angels & Airwaves about the cancellations below.

Blink 182 said the following:

“The members of blink-182 have announced today the cancelation of all their May 2012 tour dates due to a medical emergency. Blink-182’s drummer, Travis Barker, requires an urgent tonsillectomy with a recovery period expected to extend beyond the scheduled tour dates. The band apologizes for any inconvenience as a result of these cancelations and thanks their fans for their ongoing support.”

Angels and Airwaves confirmed Tom DeLonge has Pneumonia, stating:

“For all those asking, yes Tom is sick Dr. says pneumonia. We’re all disappointed about having to cancel, but health comes first.”

“Angels & Airwaves regrettably announce today that due to Tom DeLonge being severely sick and advised by his doctors not to travel, the band will have to cancel their upcoming tour dates.”

The band are yet to confirm if the UK dates will be affected.

Bullet For My Valentine‘s frontman Matt Tuck has joined forces with Cancer Bats‘ lead singer Liam Cormier, Jason Bowld (Killing Joke, Pitchshifter), Glamour Of The Kill’s Mike Kingswood and former Rise To Remain bassist Joe Copcutt to form Axewound.

The band premiered their first song last night, which is due to be offered as a free download shortly on axewounduk.com

The new supergroup are also set to play Download Festival 2012, after a warm-up gig at London’s Islington Academy on 6th June 2012.

The “supergroup” that made up D.R.U.G.S. has now been completed dismantled with the announcement of three more member departures. This comes after lead singer Craig Owens’ decision to rejoin Chiodos, although he had indicated that there would be another D.R.U.G.S. album. Everything Burns‘ frontman Tim Kellow had a near-death experience after being hit by a car following their recent London gig. You can read the full account of the incident below.

The hotly anticipated second album “Sorry To Keep You Waiting” from South West metal moguls Everything Burns was ironically almost put on hold indefinitely following a near miss between lead singer Tim Kellow and an Audi A3 after a recent gig at the Zepplin Shelter in London last Sunday.

After the gig, Kellow crossed the central London road to pick up a KFC. “I didn’t see it was a three-way junction until it was too late,” says Kellow, “When out of the blue an Audi came racing towards me.” Leaping in a Ninja-like fashion, Kellow had no time to move out of the way so jumped up in an attempt to leap over it but the car clipped his ankles, spinning him in the air before landing dramatically on the car bonnet. Miraculously, apart from his Vans shoe going hurtling up the road, Kellow stood up and walked off, leaving onlookers in disbelief. Two of his fellow band mates who witnessed the accident said “It was horrific! We thought we’d just seen him die”. Thankfully Tim’s quick moves left him with just a bruised leg and able to tell the tale. “The irony is” said Kellow, “the KFC closed its doors before I got to the other side of the road! Gutted!”

This was almost one more in a long line of setbacks the band have experienced while trying to finish their aptly named second album. First the drummer suffered a neck injury, then there were band politics that ended in the shock exit of the bass player, followed by further delays with the studio while it had a complete refit. Provided there are no more issues and all band members stay alive over the next few months; “Sorry To Keep You Waiting” will be released September 2012.
